TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
BenefitEd: Tuition Reimbursement Program
Supporting employees’ educational growth and development is a priority at Ryan Specialty, and this program is designed to help you achieve your academic and career aspirations. Employees can receive up to $5,250 per calendar year tax-free; any amounts exceeding this will be considered taxable income.
How to access the Program:
This program is administered by our third-party vendor, BenefitEd. Employees can access the BenefitEd dashboard through the benefits portal in Workday using the single sign-on option. Once logged in, you can locate and fill out the Tuition Program Application.
Application Process:
- Complete the Tuition Program application in the BenefitEd dashboard.
- Your application will be reviewed by BenefitEd.
- If approved, your manager, as listed in Workday, will receive an email notification, and will have the option to approve or deny your application.
- You will subsequently receive an email informing you of the outcome.
- Upon approval, please fill out the Tuition Program Request form.

Important Reminders:
- Clear communication with your manager about your educational goals is crucial for a smooth process.
- Discuss your interest in the program with your manager to ensure they understand the program details and your goals.
- Be aware of potential costs associated with your reimbursement, i.e. does the amount meet the $5,250 non-taxable IRS threshold or is it more.
- Courses with grades require a grade of B or above to be eligible for reimbursement.
- Courses/certifications with pass/fail will need proof of “pass” to be eligible for reimbursement.
- Ensure that the courses/certifications you choose are relevant to your career development and role.
- Keep track of application deadlines and any other important dates related to the program.
- If you have already been approved for tuition reimbursement, please fill out a new application. BenefitEd will need to formally track the approvals for ongoing courses.
